Xpel self install or professonal installed?

Has anyone installed xpel in the bay area? If so, did you do it yourself or did you have it installed? Was it hard? How much did the install cost?

Thanks.

I had Clear Armor in Mountain View install one of their own kits.

My 'S' was the first one they did (July 2002), so they used it to make the original pattern. I hung out while they installed the kit. It's not something I would want to tackle myself.

I had mine done by clear armor also. I think it was $800 for the full kit.

I got a price break because they used my car to make the pattern. They may give you some sort of a discount if you belong to the NorCal MINI Club.

MINIAC, what did you pay? I'll probably be the first '05 they get their hands on at Clear Armor in MV, which will require new work, so if they gave you a price break, I'd like one too.

Mike,
I'm not aware of any body panel changes between 04 and 05 so I can't see how any new work will be required.

I will say that their work is first rate. As MINIAC said they used to give NORCALMINI members discounts. It would be best if you spoke with Simon at clear Armor for price info at 650-625-1882.

Here is a link to NORCALMINIS.

James,

I was under the impression that the actual front shape had changed a bit, guess I was wrong. I'm already a NorCal MINIs member (tomorrow's Altamont event may be my first visit ), and already talked to the guys at Clear Armor. They quoted me $800 as a NorCal MINIs member. I'm willing to pay that, just thought if they did have to do some modifications and use my car as the test, I should see some discount.

I think they did my '03 MCS with the Aero kit for around $650.00 for the full install... check out Norcal MINIS site... I think it was last November. Mine was the first of the day on a busy weekend with about 15 other MINIS... not the best install job... a lot of rough edges on the plastic.... but the price was right.

15 installs in one day

They spent a full day on my car with Ruel doing the kit design and helping Simon with the install.

As JustGo4It said, you need to talk to Simon regarding the price.
