Dunlop Run Flats

I am thinking of buying a set of OEM rims from a member here good price. The rims come with Dunlop 195/55/16 spot 5000 run flats. The only have about 100 miles on them. Are these things any good? I might run them just to wear them or may try to sell them and get regular tires as the Wife's Clubman has a spare. It looks like the person took them off and put aftermarket set of rims and tires on his Mini the wheels look new also. I feel I am just buying rims so the tire really don't matter.

They should fit and work OK.

Likely they are firm riding but with stock suspension you aren't too bad with runflats.

You could try and put them on your MINI and see how they ride and drive on your usual local roads before deciding whether to sell or keep them.

Non runflats will be much more comfortable for daily street use. You can see used runflats if they are in good shape but some tire shops will not handle runflats and you can damage them by dismounting them if not careful.

I have pretty much decide to run the Dunlop's for now. Looked on Craig's List lot of Run Flat for sale cheap. Will run them while I save up for some good tires like Michelin's and i will have to buy new TPMS valve stems. I could use the ones I have now but don't feel like taking them off the OEM tire/wheel set. The roads and streets around are not that bad to make things uncomfortable driving. The tires are suppose to have 100 miles on them so they should be good for a few thousand miles. The Clubman has a spare so not worried about a flat. Will have to disable the TPMS in the computer until I get new TPMS sensors. We don't have sever winter here so a good all season tire is the way to go, not interested it taking it to the track after all it is my wife's

Here is your tire and its review from TR:

Pretty much the bottom of the pack as far as all-season RFTs go.

Exactly.
Run them hard, but you may find them hard to destroy.

Every time I owned a tire I hated and wanted to wear off quickly, it would stick around forever. All-season's have that propensity.

You can always throw them away when you get tired of waiting for them to wear off. That's what I did with my OEM all-season RFTs.
