Just put a big dent in hood, just got an estimate, over 1k$ to repair... Thinking about just replacing hood with a carbon fiber one. Prices on Internet are around $800 for a new one, anyone have any pics of one on their r53?

 

I think it would be quite expensive to ship one..
Im not too fond of the black hood look on a mini, guess you could paint it though.

Try a salvage yard if you want a cheap root so you can put some more horses under the hood

not bad looking, the shop i took it to for an estimate, was over a thousand bucks, thinking a new carbon fiber hood shipped, does not need painting around $900, might be a better deal, plus a little lighter

 

Pic looks good, heard these hoods fit like crap, anyone out there installed a carbon fiber hood?

 

How was install on cb hood, I heard there are fitment issues when installing new carbon fiber hoods? Still debating weather to go oem or cb hood.

I know this isn't a carbon fiber hood, but I'm always impressed with what parts you can find at partsgeek.com. I order from them and some days the part is at my doorstep less than 24 hrs later...

No first hand experience with the CF hood, but everyone I have read about has said it takes a lot of time to get it to fit correctly and even some sanding/cutting involved to it then a clear and or rebuff of the CF..
