'13 R56 tire suggestions

'13 R56
Koni Yellows and NM springs: 1.2" lowered. Camber was not changed after installation so I'm not sure where I'm sitting at...haven't had any problems.
I'm still running the stock run flats, 195/55R16.
I'm looking for a good overall tire. I'm not tracking it but I do drive it hard. I would like to go up to 17's to fill it out...just not sure if it'll rub or if I'll need anything at all.
Still new to the mod scene so any comments or suggestions are appreciated!

Most 17's shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't get a wheel with a crazy offset. But remember that going to 17's won't fill the gap because you typical reduce the profile of the tire at the same time so the overall diameter is the same.

I had NM springs and MINI R112 Challenge wheels with Conti DWS 205/45/17. You won't come close to rubbing.

Definitely ditch the runflats.

215/45 should also fit with offsets of ET40 or higher. Are you looking for an all-season or a performance summer tire?

Thanks! An all-season tire.
As far as offset goes, will I just have to guess or take it to someone to find the perfect offset?

What is more important, sporty handling or quiet and smooth ride?

Offsets are not a specific number, but a range that the wheels need to be inside. Wheels have offsets. The car doesn't. It varies with wheel width and design.

What is your budget for 4 tires? I guess it may depend on which set of 17" wheels.

Just a note, you have a choice of OEM 16 x6.5" wheels or moving to aftermarket 16x7" wheels. If you go that route you can choose the following tire sizes:

195/55-16 OEM tire size
205/50-16 slightly smaller tire diameter than OEM for more clearance from wheel arch
205/55-16 better tire selection in both all season and summer tires and slightly taller than OEM but still fit lowered suspension

Or you can change to 17x7" wheels but you will have to choose 45 series sidewalls which are firm riding. The advantage is a stiffer sidewall handles better. If you have bad potholed roads to daily drive on then 17" wheels and 45 series tires aren't the best choice.

Picking 17" wheels the most common is 17x7" with offsets from 40 to 45mm which will work. The lower the number the more the wheel pokes outward from the wheel well and the closer to flush with the wheel arch it can be.

Match that wheel with a 215/45-17 tires in an Ultra High Performance All Season class gives:

Continental ExtremeContact DWS $119 is good on comfort, 540 treadwear
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 $148 each is very good on handling and performance, 500 treadwear

On a budget-
Hankook Ventus S 1 noble 2 $102 each, 500 treadwear
