Oil analysis: 06 MCSc - NAPA Syn 5w30 - 10.2k mi
A little late in posting this...
Filtration: Air filter is 30k at the time of this sample and oil filter is 10k. Both are made by Wix.
Third UOA for this motor. Unlike the last 2 batches that went 19+ months, this one lasted only six. The motor experienced cold-start every morning and had one mile of surface street before entering the freeway. Overall, driving was about 85/15 (Hwy/City). The high Moly count is from a can of Lubro-Moly Mos2 Anti-Friction additive. Even though cold-starts seemed to be quieter, the UOA doesn't show it had any positive effect compared to the last batch of NAPA Syn. Might stop using it after the current batch.

- First UOA, M1 5w30, 32 months
- Second UOA, NAPA Syn 5w30, 20 months

Good info...
Looks like the oil was still doing its job, so the molly addative was not needed...the way I understand it, it works like zinc (ZDP) and works as lube that prevents/limits damage should the oil film fail....
Good too see the the info...looks like a "happy" stable (wear wise) motor.

Yeah, Sodium is an additive present in both batches of NAPA Syn. Only when there is high Potassium with Sodium, then there's coolant present.
Is your Mini a 2013? Tested one... nice but steering is too light.

Cadenza, you said your second one is also napa oil and you used it for 20 months, how many miles during that time? and what filters were you using? Great post, thanks for sharing

I forgot to mention that Blackstone's Universal Average for this motor is at ~6k miles.
