I brought home a Chili Red 2013 JCW two weeks ago with 19k miles. LOVE IT! Anyway, the first thing I did was change the Union Jack mirrors to black, and changed the chrome hood scoop back to body color. Now it has the Union Jack roof and scuttles, white hood stripes and auxiliary lights. I would really prefer black stripes but I'm not sure how they would look with the roof. Also, I'm thinking of painting the front and rear fog bezels to body color from black. Thoughts? Lousy, hurried pics are in my gallery.

Tried doing the front fog scoop in body color, it's rough but gives you an idea.

My feeling on Minis is, make them yours. What you like may not be what someone else likes, but it's what YOU like.

 

Thanks, that really helps. I think I like it. The black stripes look OK with the roof and the body-color bezel cuts the clutter, and emphasizes the relationship between the grille and the opening in the bumper.

I'm ANTI MOD STRIPES.

It's like a brand label. You see them on almost every Mini and I think it makes the car look small(er). Boring.

Dealer paid for my stripes to be replaced as part of buying the car. I took their money and had them removed. Stripe guy is holding my replacement viper stripes in his inventory. hahaha
