Part not available? Suggestions Please

We have a 2010 convertible that we love but are amazed that a simple part we need is not available, at least directly. We went to install a Mini Wind Deflector and noticed that the black, plastic insert that the deflector attaches to, was missing on the rear, drivers side trim panel. I was able to find the part (through various dealers) for the 2008 and earlier model, its called a wind deflector support. Was told it is not available for the 2010 and later - you would have to buy the entire rear, interior trim panel. $10 part just went to $180 part. After emailing a couple wrecking yards, it's clear I can't explain what I need or they are just not interested in such a small transaction. I may buy the 08 insert just to see if I can make it work but am wondering if any of you all have any other suggestions? Thanks to all!

There are always People on this site in the marketplace section who are parting out various models. I would recommend posting a wanted ad for the part and if possible a picture. Or purchasing the interior panel needed which would be much cheaper going through someone parting out an interior.
Good luck

If you can take a few photos of the piece you need and get dimensions, I can try and 3D print one for you. I have students who are learning to create and print objects. No guarantees, but we can try.

Let me know

That time that holds it is part of the panel on the R57 . #5 is the screw.

The Gen 1 r52 convertible wind deflector fits in the R57 and vice-versa. So the hole is th same size, But the outer dimensions might be different , worth a shot to try the R52 one.

Look to be the same oval, but the outside shape is a bit different.
