New tire size question

I'm at the point of replacing the tires on my 11 clubman. It has 195/55/16 run flats. I found a set of nice velocity rims and 215/40/18 tires. Assuming the wheel fits because the ad says for a mini and the bolt pattern is the same, will the tires fit in the hole of my wheel wells?

That should work just fine but 18" low profile tires can be a rough ride.

If you're set on them, test fit them first as those tires are 3/4" wider and if the offset is too shallow, you could rub on the struts.

Here's a good tire conversion calculator to use.

Assuming you have stock suspension, That tire size is slightly taller than OEM for tire diameter at 24.7" and is no taller than the frequently used 215/45-17 tire size on 17x7" wheels.

So the answer is yes they will fit however Velocity wheels that are 4x100 bolt pattern have a more aggressive offset than OEM which puts the wheel poking out of the wheel well by about 10mm or more.

Example Velocity wheel-
VW-211 M 18x7.5" et38
Compared to OEM 16" wheel the new wheel is 2.7mm closer to the inner suspension and pokes out 22.7mm, the tire is also wider than OEM so clearance will be very close.

You can see for yourself-

With a lowered suspension it would rub.
