Keep your R53 - I wish I did!

Just graduated college, so I make stupid mistakes. Painfully got rid of my fully-loaded 2005 R53 with just 59k on it. Bit the bullet and car-max'ed it for what.... I think it was $8900k? Ridiculous. Stalked their site and they sold my car for $15,000 within 3 days of listing it! Seriously???? I had paid 13k 3 years previously for that thing! Rip off! Oh well... that's what I get.

'Grats to the new owner. I got a 328i (will always stay w/ BMW) but man... I miss that thing. Find myself staring at the (very few) R53s I see on the road. Don't worry about the golden dollar.... keep your beauty! No point to this post...other than me telling you to appreciate your sweet ride!

Sorry to hear that you're having seller's remorse. Your all-blue was a beauty! I know that I'll never get rid of my R53. I kinda feel like this car and I were meant to be -- it was kismet. And then with all the mods I've done, I'm even more attached.

When stuck in traffic or at stop lights (which is often) I play the "would I trade my car for..." game in my head as I look at all the cars around me. It would take one helluva ride to get me outta my MINI, to even consider it.

Enjoy the 3-series and keep your eyes open, you never know when you might find another R53 that's right for you.

I did the same thing, right after the 10th Ann. on the Dragon in 2012.
Regretted it ever since so just bought another 05, Silver S and am currently changing it into a clone of my other one! LOL!

Well... sort of. Minus a few extra's as I think I went way over the top with the other one!

I miss my 69 BMW 2002, 88 325ic, and 91 318is the most of all the cars I've ever owned. That being said memory makes the heart fonder. One of my favorite movie lines goes something like 'It's so much easier to love people once they're dead; they make so few mistakes.'

We are looking at R53 replacements. I think we will pull the trigger in 2015. We will miss the Pea, but whatever replaces it will likely also be a great car.
