Circuit Werks reservoir

Has anyone used the circuit werks reservoir for the MINI Cooper S? I am thinking about buying the one on ebay for $104.00 but would like to know if anyone has had problems with it first.

A link would be helpful.
From what googling I could see - it is the Forge aluminum tank for first gen's that uses the stock overflow cap. It's avaiable at most Mini vendors.

I have the Forge, and while others are happy with it, I am not overly happy. I've replaced my cap, but it still weeps. The bigger problem is that there isn't a low/high measuring point so you kinda just have to go with it and learn where it needs to be.

It does look nice right beside the aluminum PS tank too. I've powered coated both of mine blue

The powder coating you did looks great. I am gonna go with black. My MINI is BRG.

Did you end up getting the Circuit Werks tank off eBay? Wondering if it's any good or a junky knock off of the Forge.

I did not. I ended up buying the M7 tank which was a tight fit but looked good. My new one has the forged tank. Both are good. Sorry I can not help you with the ebay tank.

Woodstoc,

Thanks for the reply. Since you have experience with both - between the M7 tank and the Forge, which would you recommend? Both good choices? One better than another?

Thanks!
Mitch

I would have to go with the Forge due to fitment.

how thick is the aluminum on the forge tank? cause I was thinking that you could potentially tap the wall and but a clear hose and fittings inbetween to get an idea where the coolant is in the tank.

if its too thin, might be able to cut and weld.

Thanks for the suggestion based on your experience with both. Rare that 1 person has tried two of the well talked about alternative products.

It is pretty thick but I am not sure about welding aluminum? I hear that is not an easy thing to do. But I am not a welder either so I may not be the right person to give an opinion on that.
