New exhaust hangers for CNT DP back exhaust?

So this has been on my car for about a month...and I enjoy the sound....when the midpipe isn't hitting the brace, and the tips aren't coming in contact with my bumper and resonating horribly thoughout the car I have tried two sets of hangers aside from OEM to get the tips to sit lower, but the hangers don't provide as much stability as the OEM hangers, so the muffler swings to and fro around corners. Anybody had these problems?

Also thinking of throwing the stock exhaust back on...sans cat...and getting a catless DP...probably from Mario.

Eventually I'll be getting a Manic Tune...will having the stock exhaust be that detrimental to gains from a tune? I've read a few posts that say catless DP + stock exhaust = teh awesomez. I don't want it so loud that I'm being a hypocrite when I swear at the mustang kids down the street who rev their engines constantly driving through our neighborhood.

Thanks for any input!

UncDeo,

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. At first I only saw slight rubbing. But now I am noticing a lot more vibrations. Im just going to wait it out until I hopefully run across someone selling their JCW exhaust, or at least the rear portion of it.

As for the DP, go for it. Quality, Sound and Performance pretty much sums up Mario's M3 DP. Don't let the CNT hold you back. If it's too loud, go back to your stock exh. The only limiting factor with a stock exhaust would probably be that you will not gain the full benefits of a Stage II Manic tune, being it's meant for a full TBE. Other than that, I'm sure you will be more than satisfied with the performance and sound of that set up with a tune

Are you using the hose type clamps that came with the CNT? First thing I did was replace the clamps that came with it with "U" type stainless clamps. Then I had my exhaust guy tack weld the joints after using props to make sure the pipe was in the correct location. I never had a problem with the hangers. I did have it vibrating against the center brace a couple of times, but after tack welding it has been solid for the last year. I am perfectly happy with my system, especially considering the cost.

I run the stock JCW exhaust with my DP and no second cat. The sound is perfect for cruising with no droning, but can wake the neighbors when needed. The stock "S" exhaust is much like the JCW, but has more packing to quiet it down. Don't expect HP from an exhaust. The DP and tune are your two best friends.

An easy fix is to add washers (spacers) to the middle cross member, to create distance from the pipe. I had to do this on my R53, because of the vibration. You only need to create mm of space.

Outstanding build quality on the DP Mario. Noticed the upper flange is already tapered in case someone decides to port their turbo. Nice to see a company that thinks ahead and tries to anticipate a customers needs.

Negative Ghost Rider.... LOL.

I did not know you had the CNT DP. But I must say, Mario has been on point from the get go. He has offered the utmost advice over this forum, Facebook and cell phone text. Great Custer service before, during and after both purchases. Even if you take a loss on the CNT, the satisfaction gained from Mario's DP will more than make up for it all😁

After that you might as well have him Hook you up with a Manic
Tune 👍

I'm blushing a little!
Catless is the way to go. Let the car breath, faster spool, less heat, more HP, deeper tone, and it makes pancakes (gluten free of course)

The tune is the what really makes the motor and matching mods really come to life.

Drink the Kool-Aid!!

What? Wait a minute yours makes pancakes? Damn it I got screwed. I should have waited longer to go catless. But noooo I had to have right then.

Oh and skip the Kool-Aid. Take the red pill instead. Who wants to wake up driving a Yugo. Ok I'm going back to my bottle of glenmorangie now.
