Hi Everyone!!

I'm a new member and new mini owner. I purchased a used '09 R56!

I've had it for about a month and yesterday I noticed the black trim near the drivers door had popped out. I pressed it back in using some force but it's back out again. I've attached a photo for reference. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a minor fix?

Very common problem on the 1st gen r56 is 2nd gen but I assume same issue. Your windshield was likely replaced at one point (rock hit it or something). One or more of the clips that hold the a pillar on probably broke when it was removed. This happened to mine. you will probably need a new a-pillar cover. Part isn't too expensive and an easy replace at home. 1st gen just requires a Philips head screwdriver.

 

Those pillars or side window seal pieces look warped even on my MCS, there easily replaceable at ECS Tuning, I'm unable to find. Bummer.
