So, my '10 justa is being a little wacky. Kinda, sorta seems to misfire around 80mph while cruising- comes n goes. Sometimes it'll kick on the CEL, but usually not. Tonight it did the miss thing, the CEL came on and then it ran great right after the light came on. Code-wise, it's funny; system too rich off idle, system too lean at idle, timing over retarded... no misfire codes, no other fuelling or maf codes. Weird, right? Brief details: 110k miles, casting plug popped out while my wife was driving (it's her car), about 8k miles ago. Cleaned the valve cover while it was off, replaced the casting plug and confirmed no more coolant loss, cleaned ALL the milkshake from engine- looks like new. Suspect vanos solenoid (s) buggered... took them out and cleaned them (they were already very clean)- no change. Swapped solenoids , figuring the intake one might be happier on the exhaust side... still no different. I did a pretty thorough induction clean not too long ago, since the casting plug debacle, as it's NEVER had one, but it might want another one. This is a lot of words... sorry. Just one more thing- this problem seems to heat-related. More trouble in pm drive home, especially with extra stop n go. AM drive is nearly fault-free. Any Ideas?
