how to get pop n' burble out of my 2010 cooper s

Hi guys! i have a 2010 mini cooper s with the jcw kit installed and was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to somehow flash mod the ecu to get the pop and burble? i spoke with someone at mini of monmouth and they said it may be possible and will cost $100 to try. she gave no guarantees that it would work but said that they could attempt it. i would really hate to just blow $100 on something that may not even work so if anyone has already done this or attempted this please let me know what your results were. Thanks guys! Happy motoring!

The Pop and Burble is hard to develop on the Turbo cars, simply because of the characteristics of the flow trough the turbo exhaust impeller.

Motor on!

isnt it just a small amount of fuel delivered at decel that passes thru and ignites in the exhaust?

pop and burble

The pop and burble is easy to get. You should hear my 2014 R61. I can turn it on and off with Sport Mode. You will always get it if you cut the second cat and resonator out. Problem solved. Car sounds great even without the sport mode, just no pop and burble.

Hi everyone. I have a 1967 Mini Cooper S on a rotisserie. The body, engine, suspension, and subframes have been done and now I have to put it all back together. The project has stalled and i looking for someone to help me get it going again. My wife says I have 6 months to finish before she throw everything out of the garage. If you would like to help with the project let me know. I don't have that much experience but I have muddled through this far.

You should start a new thread instead of hijacking this one.

I have a catless DP and Dp back exhaust that eliminates the 2nd cat as well. I get quite a bit of poping and a tad bit of burble when the engine is cold on my '07. However, once it warms up I hear it less. I also run a tune, but the tuner says they cannot tune for pop and burble. So it would seems what I hear is just natural with the set up I have.

Hey guys i appreciate all your responses however non of it really helped. I don't think any of you guys actually read my post. it is about the 2010 model specifically, and how supposedly they took the "pop and burble" out of that year for whatever reason, and i am trying to see if anyone has successfully put the "pop and burble" back on to a 2010 model. 2007, 2009, 2014 models should all have them already be able to make the noise in decel and some need sport mode on so that has nothing to do with this thread and what i am asking. this thread is specifically and solely about getting this pop sound out of a 2010. i am still looking for help on this topic so anyone that can shed some light on this would be amazing!! Thanks

Thats incorrect. These cars do not have pop and burble. I know, because I have an '07. ZERO pop and burble until I starting moding and tuning.

No pop and burble for the N14 engine(2007-2010, except 2011 JCW). Alta tried to program pop and burble into the Access Port ECU tuner, for the N14, and couldn't do it safely. MINI had a different ECU in their N18 engines and pop and Burble was brought back.

I've never understood why people would want it.
