R60 mushrooming?

The last thread on this looks like 2011. I am deciding on VIP strut brace for my 2014 CM S All4 vs the m7 brace plus strut tower plates. Big price difference and if mushrooming has not been an issue will likely go with the VIP item.

Sorry that was a quick post. To clarify, since the last thread on this is from 2011 I'm wondering if any CM owners have had this come up in the last few years? I'm guessing no but thought I'd ask as it will help me select between the above 2 options. Anyone?

Must have been the mushrooms he was consuming, they can cause all sorts of reactions.

I'm wondering what made the decision for you? I haven't found too much on the mushrooming with the R60 , which is probably telling. I rather like the looks if the M7 product but if the plates aren't needed I'd rather put the extra $ into other parts.

Mushrooming is an issue that affected/affects primarily first generation (R50/52/53) MiNIs.

Great! That's exactly what I needed to know. M7 would have you believe you need their plates for the r60 too, going to catch the uninformed, I assume? Thank you!

If you lower the car as much as I did, and get it to tracks, mushrooming is still an issue.
