It's mid September and winter is coming. Brings down the price. Unless you're in a warm area and there are no seasons. 12K on the clock is tempting. I could see it going for the 17K estimate. A dealer will want more than a private seller. The key is more how much is it worth to YOU! After you buy it, the price you paid should be forgotten. I overpaid for my '05 with 35K on the clock last October and kicked myself for a while, but 7,000 miles later (this is a toy, not a DD) I am comfortable with the price and I realize that I can't go back. I know what I looked at and the prices I was seeing. And if you have a long term relationship with the car, a few grand here or there amortizes out to a pittance on a daily basis.

Damn the torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead!

Thanks. I am contemplating selling not buying. Too many cars in the household not getting driven. Weather still great in VA but understand your thought.

I just purchased a 2007 JCW convertible in Florida. It had 34k miles and I got it for $16,800. It had allot of modifications (upgraded supercharger, fuel injectors, rear brake disks, suspension, etc). It was fully loaded, garage kept, and in PERFECT condition. I'm sure someone would take yours for around $17,000.

There is a rapidly growing appreciation of the Gen 1 MINI. '07 is the start of Gen 2 except for the R52. 12K miles is unheard of for a seven year old of any marque. I'd advertise nation wide and hold out for the top offer. For those that appreciate it for what it is, 17K might be bargain priced. Good luck. I sure wish I was in the market for a backup motor but I know it would hurt my li'l guy's feelings.

As one wag on the forum once noted: "Without pictures, it didn't happen."

Thanks for your thoughts. Hopefully someone who appreciates what the car is will be interested.

Have you been checking Autotrader for comparables? That might help you focus in on a value.

Personal experience -- I bought my '08 R52 S this spring for $14.5 with 42k miles, and think I got a really solid deal.

I would think yours should be in the $15k range at least -- possibly higher depending on options. JCW could be even higher yet.

All depends on condition, though. Assuming here a non-smoker car, no accident record, no dents, scratches, perfect interior, all service performed, etc. Low mileage is no guarantee of a like-new car, I have learned from personal experience.

My '08 R-52 S convertible Sidewalk has 49K and runs like a champ. I would not take less than $17K having paid $22K back in 2010.

Sidewalks are very nice and still a very desirable Convertible. Is it a side walk version ?

The last of the supercharged are nice also.
