R56 factory jcw tune vs other tune?
factory jcw tune vs other tune?
I have a r56 2007 and I wonder what will I get if I put the factory jcw tune ? I know it will change the boost and timing but will it change the sport mod? More feedback on the steering? More throtle responce from the pedal? Anything else?
Does the other aftermarket provide the same feature as the jcw? I know it will outperform in the power range but for the rest?
Thank you
Daoust

The JCW Tune will not affect Sport Mode, Sport Mode will function like it always has. As for the difference between a JCW or Manic tune it's like night and day difference, as for the price comparison it's hugely expensive for a JCW tune! I think Manic Stage 1 is $500 while the JCW tune I have seen at $2400 before paying for Mini to install it. You must already know what a Mini dealer charges for labor, mine charges $165 per hour. The JCW tune they have to install a upgraded exhaust manifold, JCW CAI with cone filter and muffler with chrome tips.
Thank you Systemlord for your reply. I have read at 2 différents place that the Jcw give more throttle responce and give more feedback on the sport mode and it have the same feedback as the s when it is not on sport mode. But I was looking for some answer of peoples that have try both because it look more like speculation.
Some peoples say that you can get the tune only , not have to buy the exhaust and the cai .

I wouldn't waste my money on a JCW tune. Other tunes are way more rewarding and will make you smile.

I started with JCW tune on my 08 S. It was a couple years ago and at the time the car was still under warranty and it didn't seem there was any reliable mass-produced tuning out there. Alta with the Cobb tune support was coming to an end about that time so that for me wasn't an option. The JCW Tune kit included the exhaust (N18 get a manifold so more expensive), the CAI, a couple of badges and the tuning is an improvement over stock. I have a Manic now and I haven't tried anyone else's tune, but the Stage II i'm running is a considerable improvement. It really sets the car free. I now want to find my soft spots so I can upgrade through the stage and look at Stage III just because it is so much fun. For the money of the JCW Tune, I would get a Manic (or comparable) and put an exhaust and a CAI and go from there. Lots of exhaust and CAI choices out there. Personal preference and a little homework will be budget expanding!
I was refering at the throtle by wire lag ( electronic throtle) on sport mod the lag is less but what I wonder is if with the jcw tune the lag is still there? For sure , I will look for aftermarket tune thank you for your help

There won't be lag if in Sport Mode whether you have a JCW tune or not Sport mode works the same with either stock or JCW tune.
No tune is more flexible than the Battle/DNA tune. Adjust the throttle to however you want and adjust how you want your power band to look. More tunes you can ask for if not to your initial liking. What's not to love about that!
The only reason to justify the incredible expense of the JCW tune is to maintain warranty. Since you should be way out of the warranty period then I wouldn't even consider it.
A lot of tuners can customize many of things you have mentioned.
