I'm looking at 09 clubman JCW. I ran the Carfax on one I'm considering a it read mini cooper clubman JCW gp kit. What does the gp kit mean?

Also, when i ran the vin in the BMW site it shows up as a clubman s under the model. But under the e-code it says r55 JCW. Does that mean this was a clubman s with a JCW instal from the dealer? Thanks!

 

Sounds like the dealer installed the kit, its not the same as a fJCW.

 

What's the difference between a fjcw and a regular JCW? Sorry for the noob question.

A couple additional questions

What is a gp kit?

Factory JCW vs dealer installed JCW
Dealer installed equals about 10% less hp, no upgrade on breaks, transmission or any internal engine parts.

Other than that am I missing anything?

With this Mini being my first one and I do want the JCW kit is it not smart to get the dealer installed?

Does the dealer JCW get better mpg or better insurance rates since it's not a full blown JCW?
