R60 Crash Tested
For anyone who is curious as to how a Countryman does in a crash here is a good example. My 2012 Countryman S was hit from the rear while I was at a stoplight. The vehicle that hit me was a E350 utility van. The van was going 40 mph at impact with no braking. The impact pushed me into the car in front of me.
My steering wheel and right curtain airbags deployed. There was no intrusion into the passenger compartment at all. My seat back did break laying my seat back all the way. It happened at the first impact. Design or flaw? Not sure.
I received minor injuries. The officers that responded were very impressed at how well the car did.

RIP my sweet MINI I miss you!

Amy my 06 hardtop has survived, a deer at 45mph, an F350 at 10mph, a civic side swipe and 1 run in with road debris on the freeway, she's still going strong. Maria my 14 countryman met a deer a couple weeks ago I was going 55mph at the time.

insurance rates must be high.
Deer are my fault as a driver, the others were from idiots not watching where they are going and buying cheap retreads that tend to come off at freeway speeds. My insurance likes that other than deer they never have to pay for anything!
