R50/53 Replacing wheel arches
Replacing wheel arches
I Know that their has to be a tutorial on here somewhere for R53 front wheel well arch replacements. I just haven't came across it yet. But anyways the lower I'm taking the mini the more and more those arches are just waiting to pop off. If anyone on here knows of a good link to something/anything I could read up on what to do with all these it would be greatly appreciated everyone. Thanks in advance as always!!!!
I don't have a tutorial but did my front passenger side recently when it came off. First bit of advice is to get a tool for popping off the plastic trim holders, and a pair of needle nose pliers. Open the hood and remove the only bolt in the assembly, right in the front. I think it was an M5. Use the needle nose pliers to pinch the back sides of the trim holders and gently pull the holder out.
For the front wheel arches, and I will show you the rears also. These are the most common replaced from damage or fading. They Fits all Gen 1 MINIs R50 R52 R53 models.

The panels come with the necessary clips the front forward facing don't have the nut or that bolt but it can be transferred.
Watch when taking of the panels. To take off the other panels you could use a tool from the plastic trim tool kit and then use a towel so you down scratch the paint near the arch. Needle nose works if you try to save the clips and poking through the holes.

Not to hijack the thread. But what do the wide arches look like? And where'd you get them?
+1 for this, please let us know!

Actually, I just picked up some Solution Finish and I'm going to give that a try. I just have one that has a ding in it, but will probably wait for a car to hit the salvage yard.
