My glove box on my 03 Mini pops open when you hit a bump. Is there a trick to adjusting the latch?

 

I tried, ended up breaking it worse, now I just have a shelf.

Well that sucks Nik. I tried Velcro like the previous owner, but the heat just melts the glue.

 

My latch broke. Was told you need to replace the glovebox door.

 

I have the same issue. I stuffed some foam padding into the opening beside the hook to make it grip more firmly, and it only pops now over a big bump. There is no easy fix that solves the problem; a new complete box is real solution- about $130 from ECS Tuning.

 

I might have to give that a try.

 

Check on YouTube, guy there used some magnetic latches to fix his. I ended uo drilling a hole above the current handle and installing a "twist lock" to hold it shut...
