205's or 195's on '05 mcs

I am currently looking to replace my tires with some
Toyo Proxes T1R but I am wondering should I go with 195's
or the option of 205's. Anyone done 205's on a '05 mcs
with no issues.

205 is OK...
195 is stock....195/55r16....
Both fit on the stock 6.5 inch rim....have used both...
Just pick a diameter similar to the OEM....which 205 size are you looking at?
Biggest issue with 205 is most sizes are slightly smaller diameter than stock...meaning higher rpms and lower mpg....(wider is more rolling resistance, so less mpg, but slightly more grip).

I don't see a tirerack listing for any 205mm wide Toyo T1R (ultra high performance summer tire).

Which wheel are you using? What suspension?

What are you using the tires for? Street only or any high performance/track or autocrossing?

Assuming OEM suspension and wheels the 195/55-16 is fine for street use.
280 treadwear, $78 each.

If budget is larger and you want to track or autocross your MCS then-
Toyo Proxes R1R Extreme Summer tire 140 treadwear
205/50-16 $145 each
or with lowered suspension-
205/45-16 $149 each, small tire diam of 23.2" or 1" less than OEM.

Suspension is OEM
Rim is R84 V-Spoke (or X-Lite) Design Light Alloy Wheel

6.5J x 16
195/55 R16 All-season run-flat tire

I drive hundred miles a day but I drive sporadically and like going fast (above 75, slight weaving). It will almost all be freeway driving
but I also plan on doing a targa trophy. I don't plan on tracking the car. My main concern is freeway driving, a little bit
of canyons, and a little bit of rain in the winter (SoCal so its not too bad). So which would be better 195's or 205's? Assuming I can find Toyo Proxes T1R or
would you recommend the Yokohoma S drives in 205's?
