JCW rear bumper retrofit on a MCS

Has anyone retrofitted a rear jcw bumper on a regular MCS?
Im trying to figure out if the crash bumper for the MCS is the same as the JCW.
I know it also gets really confusing but its one of the really early 2007 mcs, so the corresponding jcw bumper of the time would be needed.

If you're talking about the JCW aero kit, then yes, it is done all the time.

Here's a link to another thread. Post #12 has a link to the kit for your specific year. You and order just the rear bumper if that is all you want.

Not sure of the newer kits will fit your model year.

Thanks, Cerenkov, I also called ecs to confirm the jcw bumper would actually fit.

Just ordered everything and realized two things.
One the diagram I was using didnt show those two torx that screw inside side ways for the diffuser. Does anyone have a part number for those?
Two, I dont have the full underbody paneling? Has anyone mounted them without using those?

You don't need the under body paneling, at least I didn't, and honestly very few people have it. Wish I did have it though.

What did you do with the end, where the metal part attaches to the other paneling? From pictures it looks like no mounting there would cause it to flap in the wind.

The end just doesn't have anything connected to that hole. The mounting is extremely sturdy, mostly from the metal brackets that are mounted under the exhaust hangers. You couldn't pull it off even if you wanted to.

I was just under there and realized there are 2 holes in the actual diffuser, they mount to 2 lower secondary bracket thats attach to the impact absorber. It seems I only have one, did you have both?

I do recall that when I was installing the JCW aero rear bumper, one side had a bracket and the other side did not.

How did you remedy this situation? Did you mount it without having the other bracket; is it holding steady? I was thinking about buying a door hinge bracket painting an welding it on there.

Hmm, sorry my memory is failing me I had to think about this for a while and look at pictures and the car itself.

There is a small metal "L" bracket which is present on both driver and passenger sides that is suppose to attach to the factory "S" bumper cover. The only problem is that there is no attachment point on the JCW Aero bumper for the driver side. If you have the diffuser kit then the bolt will also bolt thought a hole in the diffuser and into this bracket. I only have it fastened on the passenger side. The hole is there for the driver side but there is not bolt in it (never has been and I don't even think it came with the kit).

I've never had an issue with it. The diffuser is rock solid.

Gotcha- I must have a very early model as I have no L bracket on the driver side.

For whatever reason I can't find then on any diagrams. I'll have to weld a door bracket on then.
Thanks for your help.
