Best turbo inlet pipe???

My stock turbo inlet pipe is perished at the turbo end. I don't really want/need a full CAI as I think the stock airbox is plenty good.
My question, what's the best fitting, most reliable aftermarket solution??

I just got another stock one. It was hard for me to justify the additional expense, but the forge silicone ones looked pretty good, and Alta has a metal one also.

There have been enough guys that have gone to aftermarket ones, maybe place a 'want to buy' ad on the marketplace and see if you can get another stock one cheap.

Have fun,
Mike

These pipes don't fail often.

Any guess as to why it failed?
How many miles on your car?
Any air intake mods that would explain the failure?

You can usually buy an OEM pipe off someone on this list, but if you suspect the failure may reoccur and you need a stronger replacement, Alta makes a metal turbo inlet pipe that should last forever:

You could just get another stock turbo inlet pipe here.

My turbo pipe broke at the exact same point as yours did and just like you I as well repaired mine with some of that self hardening silicone mesh tape.

I wasn't too sure about my repair though so I purchased the JCW version of the pipe. Surprisingly this part is actually cheaper and upon receiving the pipe, it seems much more durable. Here is the part from ECS: Filtered Air Pipe The breather tube is slightly different but for the N14 engine it still fits perfectly. So far after 2 weeks of use it seems to be working just as the previous ribbed version did.

Hope this helps!

I purchased mine from Sewell and the Customer Support guy (Brandon if I remember correctly) was very helpful in my purchase. He grabbed both and compared the sizes for me as I was a little hesitant in purchasing mine as it looked a little different. With the NAM discount you can purchase it for 98 bucks. I personally will shop there many more times because of this customer support even though they may be a couple bucks more.

As for the performance part, I am running an Alta CAI. The original pipe as compared to the JCW version I don't notice any difference in performance. Still the same great whooshing noise as before! :D

The visual part though I think looks much better as there are no more funky ribs and stuff.

I say its a win win situation all around!
