VIP CAI installation

Hello Everyone, I installed a VIP CAI this morning. I did everything on the instruction it came with, however the pics on it was too blurry so I really couldnt tell if what I did was right. When I removed the stock airfilter, there was 2 tubes, the one on top where we put the KN filter, and the one on the bottom. Now my question is for the one on the bottom, do we just leave it like that bare and open? Or Im just being paranoid Please check my pic as reference to what Im talking about.

yes I believe bare open, that tube draws cold air from outside to the K&N filter.

VIP CAI user here:

Can confirm the bottom one is left open.

I've had mine for almost a couple years and never had a problem with it. Best money I've spent upgrading it. The little boost in performance is cool, but I LOVE the sounds it makes when it sucks in air.
