The lease specials for a 2014 Countryman/Paceman are great but I don't need a car until October. When does the factory switch over to building the 2015 model? i.e. What is the last build date I could order to get a 2014 to qualify for the lease rate? The current lease special requires delivery by September 2 which is earlier than I need but probably worth it if the lease rates are expected to go up for 2015. I am hoping I don't have to go much earlier to get a 2014.

Is the current lease of $214/month for a $27,745 MSRP car a subsidized rate that is likely to go up when the 2015 model comes out?

 

I don't know if the factory schedule has changed, but my 2012 was in the first couple dozen off the assembly line and I got it in early October. It had to go through the Panama Canal though (to New Mexico), and east coast deliveries usually shave off at least a week.

 

I now have an answer to my own question - it appears the factory changes to 2015 cars in mid-July. That means there are limited build slots available if you want a custom 2014.

 

It is around that time. The factory usually shuts around late july for the changes.
