OK, so I inquired about this event, and commited myself to being a participant. Didn't get an exact number of participants at this moment, as of yet, but it is said to be around possibly 170. But we need at least 201 to break the record. So if there are people here that know of the event, who haven't already thought about or commited themselves to this event, please think about and/or pass it along to any other MINI/Mini owners that you know of. That would be so cool to be a part of breaking a world record with MINIs/Minis. I'm driving out for 4hrs one way for this, and I know there are some other members here that are about that close to it or closer. Come on out. This should be an awesome fun-filled MINI/Mini day. There's some more information on the Vancouver MINI Cooper Club website about it. Come one come all.
Cheers,

That was a wicked time. I was #21 and my Mom was #20. I found her a MINI to rent and rented it for her birthday, as well to have it to drive in this event. She didn't even have a clue that she was getting her own MINI for the day until I had to tell her that I was serious, and that it was true as we stood there inside the rental dealer. She had a blast. We actually made it (a photo of us) in the July 25th edition of the Ming Pao Chineese newspaper.
195 MINI/Minis all in one area. Damn that was cool.
I'd imagine the Europeans or even the Brits in particular, won't take lightly to this record being broken for something that's mainly their heritage, and something that they produce and export. Let the games begin.
Pretty cool being #172 there Hallo. Nice work. Just happened, or did you plan it that way?
For anyone reading this that doesn't know,......the *NOW* PREVIOUS record was set at 171 MINIs/Minis in Germany in 2002 I believe it was. And we killed that with this weekend with 195 baby!!! Booo yeah!
Cheers to all that were there and a part of it.

Anyone know what the original record for this event would be under when it was set back in Germany? I tried to look it up on the Guiness World Records site, but couldn't come up with anything.
Came up with a driveable couch powered by a older Mini engine.
Other than that, I'm not sure what to look for. Guess we'll have to wait until next years edition to go into print to find our record breaking event.

The record was for MINI only, not for MINI & Mini (classic)
What the result of the record was, I don't now. There was a video tape going to de afficials , to look at it, and that takes a lot of time.
But I think, there were nore then 200 MINIs.
It was fun to be one of them

Has anyone who has at this event found any Guiness Book of Wold Records books that have this entry in it? I found a 2005 Guiness book (Gold sparkly/shiney cover) at Chapters bookstore, but I could not see it in there. I have the Guiness certificate saying it was reconized and all. Is there another book, or is it in the 2004 edition, or maybe the 2006 edition?? Thanx
