R50/53 P0132 & p0455
P0132 & p0455
Hey Guys,
I've got two codes right now and I'm trying to figure out if they are related to each other.
It's my wife's 2003 Cooper and it has about 70k miles.
The P0455 code is on and occasionally the filler cap light comes on as well. I replaced the gas cap and cleared the code but the light came back on.
The P0132 Code says Bank 1 Sensor 2, but I don't know if that is pre or post cat. I've got the NGK 25648 sensor, I just don't know which one to replace. However, this code does not always appear when I plug in the scan tool. It comes and goes.
But since they both have to do with fuel and the emission system, I was wondering if there is something I'm missing? Are they related to each other or just two separate issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Is this ( black component - Part No.1 ) connected properly ? In your engine compartment pass side.
Bank 2 = Post cat O2 sensor.
Typically any other O2 sensor besides OEM doesn't work well.

The 2 hoses are both snapped on correctly and the electrical connection looks good and is connected. Any way to test the part?
So the NGK sensor might not work correctly?
Recommendations for the OEM part?
So are these two issues connected at all?

Still Need Help
Well, I changed out the O2 sensor with the NGK since I already bought it. Cleared the codes and it hasn't come back on yet.
When I turn the car to the on position the check engine light comes on and the Code P0455 comes up. When I start the car the check engine light turns off.
Also the filler cap light came back on again.
Making progress I guess, but still not satisfied.
Any help?
