R60 My time here has been short lived.
My time here has been short lived.
Well guys. Its been two months since I bought the CMS and yesterday I traded him in. I had taken a friend to pick up her car from service at the Toyota Dealership and out front was sitting a brand new 2014 Toyota Prius with the package 5. Two hours later I was out the door with the keys to it.
I LOVED the CMS. But, as weird as it may sound, the Prius with a package 5 has always been a dream car of mine.
Thankfully with the rebates and the fact that I only lost out on 375 dollars from what I paid for the CMS and what they gave me for trade in, I was able to acquire the new car without breaking the bank.
So farewell to all. I barely know any of you but my time here was great and the knowledge and know-how that you all have was admirable.

As much as I look forward to turning in my CM (2 months!), I gotta say I've never been near a Toyo dealership, let alone looked at a Prius. To each their own. Good luck with the Prius and happy motoring.
Being forced to own a Prius with a package 5 would be a nightmare of mine.
Seriously, you may catch some flak around here, but as long as your choice makes you happy, that is what matters. Enjoy your new ride!

Owning/driving a Prius for me would be like taking a couple of Valium pills every morning.... i would get the same effect. But as the others have mentioned, to each his own and congrats on your new ride!

You will get great gas mileage. That is for sure.
I see lots of those around in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz.
Now that moved back to Ca, that car does make sense.
When I lived in Texas, Use to drive a full sized 4x4 truck with a lift. 9mpg.
But when I find gas selling for $4.60 per gallon, that does make sense.
I get 25.1 mph, and pleased with my decision.

Haha, my daily driver was a Prius 4 before I got into the C.M., sadly, I thought it was a much better car for what each car set out to achieve. I'm heading to a Subi stealer this weekend to trade the CM for an STI. The only thing holding me back from going back to a Prius is the coming of the redesign Prius in '16.
Good luck!
Good luck!

you would actually be surprised at the torque on these... I've gotten it and a volt to lay down some rubber
a prius is not a car, it is a transportation device
Exactly, why even get a Countryman in the first place , it's not like a Prius is rare, anyway if that's what he wants, Bon Voyage
LOL
Having gone from HEMIs to Chevy big blocks, to turbo charged European four bangers. (Quattro and my Mini All4). It would be hard for me to go to a Prius, Volt or Leaf
The Tesla, that is a deferent story.
But to each is own. He will be laughing all of the way to the gas pump, and saving $$$, and in certain states gets a tax break and drives in the express lanes.

My wife came down to Prius vs. Countryman S. She loves the low emissions and near silence of the Prius, and loves the performance and cheeky attitude of the Countryman. She knows they are complete different cars appealing to different parts of her. She got the Countryman and loves it, but a Prius would have been just as much a dream car for her and I think she would be just as happy.
It she had bought the Prius, by now I would be lobbying for permission to hack the power train to unlock more power. The Prius is designed to prioritize its battery longevity at all costs. Well, they're popular enough that if you burn out a set of batteries, you can replace them from a junk yard for not too much money. So screw longevity, let's see some power! :-D
Is this thread real or did we get hacked by a Toyota rep. No way you buy a mini for three months and then trade it for your dream Prius. Does not add up at all. I will leave the Prius jokes to the pros like Jeff Dunham. Have fun. ....... Wait you traded in fun. Have function with you new ride

Makes me sad — thought the community was more grown up, but I guess not. :(
