powdercoating red on wheels?

Just wondering if anyone has powdercoat their wheels completely red on their countryman? I have black with red stripe like the JCW, and decided to go back to 18's and getting a new set of rims, and debating to powdercoat them white or red, so far I'm favoring red. since I haven't seen anyone had done that yet.

maybe test it with red (or white) plastidip. jcw wheels are pretty pricey and stripping then powdercoating them red is an awful big, expensive commitment.

I like it! My brother powder coated his rims red on his Evo IX. It held up really well so I wouldn't be afraid to do it.

I powder-coated the OE alloy wheels on my former ride (white to match the body color) and they still looked great 7 years and 112,000 miles later when I traded it in on my new CMS a few weeks ago. They were never garaged, spent every Winter covered in snow and salt in Vermont and New York and every Spring in slimy clay during the annual Vermont mud season.

One hint: make certain your powder coater sandblasts away any factory coating on the wheels before doing his thing to insure proper adhesion.

Nice!! That's good to hear! Yes I'm having the them sandblast all coating off before powder coating. Still torn between Red or White. I think I will remove all the stripes so it won't look as busy. And also vinyl the rooftop red. So far I'm still going with red. But every time I see a white rims. I just get a little unsure ha ha
