R56 Need help with brake/clutch fluid transfusion (w/ power bleeder)
Need help with brake/clutch fluid transfusion (w/ power bleeder)
I have replaced all brakes and rotors on my 09 MCS and it's time to run new dot4 through everything and flush out the old. I have a motive black label pressure bleeder and know how to do the brakes. Where I am hung up is the clutch slave. Here are the steps I believe are right.
1) Make sure reservoir is well past full mark with fresh fluid and also have plenty of fluid in the bleeder.
2) Preasurize bleeder to 10psi
3) compress piston on slave using tool. Make sure it is straight in and not crooked.
4) Attach clear hose to bleeder nipple
5) Open bleeder valve on slave and let fluid come through until it looks clean
6) Close bleeder
7) Remove compression tool
8) Actuate clutch pedal a bit to make sure all is well
Am I missing anything or is my procedure flawed?

I actually did not bleed the clutch. The slave was markedly different looking than the pictures I saw. Didn't was to mess something up. As far as the flush for the brakes, it went down without a hitch using the power bleeder. I just bled each line until the fluid went a lot clearer. Only had to do single flush and the brakes feel great. Have put 1500+ miles on them now and they are solid. I am finishing up a condenser repair tomorrow (dang deer strike) and will take pictures of the clutch slave on my car to see if anyone can make heads or tails of that.
