R53 Brakes Weight?

I've been searching all over for the answer to this, even on some other sites, and can't find anything.

Basically I'm just looking for the weight of the stock R53 brake caliper and rotor. I'm sure someone has posted it somewhere, I just can't find it.

Thanks!

Thanks! If you could weigh the caliper without a pad installed that would be great, since pad weight can vary a little depending on how much it has been used. I appreciate the help.

I just weighed a standard front brake from a 2004 R53. The disc is 8 lbs and the caliper and carrier is 10 lbs with out the pads (brake dust included however). The disc is a little worn and plain faced. I can't weigh the rears, they are still on the car.

Thank you for posting that. With the rotor being a little worn, I would say a new rotor is probably closer to 9-10lbs or so.

SaltySalt: Typically Brembos are pretty heavy, but they do provide excellent stopping power. I remember when I upgraded to Evo IX Brembos on my Evo IV the weight went up quite a bit.

For reference, a Wilwood 4-pot caliper is and the 12.19" rotor is 10.3lbs with the hat and the Dynapro caliper is 4.1lbs. So it seems front Wilwoods could drop unsprung weight by about 10-12lbs total. Not too bad.
