R60 mirror glass/caps same as R56?

I'm not able to get the same blindspot coverage with the R60 mirrors as I was in my R56. Even though it's not longer by much, I just can't get the same field of view.

I came across the "euro" style aspherical heated mirror glass for the R56 for $30 shipped and I'm wondering if it would be the same shape/size as the R60. Shortly after though, I found the mirrors on ECS Tuning, and there's different part numbers for R56 and R60, so now I'm not as hopeful.

Which leads me to my last part.. I was under the impression that the R56 mirror caps would fit the R60.. Is that the case? Because if so, why would the glass be different if the caps are the same?

Last last thing.. Is there anywhere to get just the Chili Red mirror caps without buying the JCW design package? I found them on minigenuineparts but after shipping from UK, it would be the same price to get the JCW package. Or if anyone is looking to sell theirs you can PM me..

As far as I know, they are the same mirrors. I know that the mirror caps are the same. You may want to double check with ECS Tuning first, although I'm sure he'll weigh in here eventually!

The mirror caps are the same. I put the red mirror caps from my R57 cabrio (with powerfolding mirrors) onto my Countryman (with powerfolding mirrors). Just remember that you won't be able to swap if one is powerfolding and the other is non-powerfolding.

Thanks, I called the MINI dealer and the parts department said he cross referenced them and the R56 and R60 glass is interchangeable. Then talked to Dave (I think) at ECS and he also said they are different but will fit.

From what I could tell by the photos, the R60 has a bare glass edge, where the R56 has more plastic, and extends to form a thin black edge around the mirror.

With both the MINI dealer and ECS saying they'll work, I'm going to give it a try.
