I just found out about a recall on the turbo heat shield & the timing chain tensioners. In your opinion does this need to be done asap? There's only 25k on the car. It's a 09'.

Well with your low of miles you wouldn't think you would have to rush in right away..But with a MINI nothing is normal.. IMO I would go in asap. The only reason I say this is because of the timing chain tensioner. That to me is a more critical item that can cause major issues or motor failure. Its better to get that done now then later in my book!

 

Agreed, they will probably install updated parts. You can probably wait until you need other service, but don't forget to get it done.

 

i was thinking, 'you must be new' lol. if u're not hearing any side effects, probably not urgent, but def the next time you take it in for sure
