R56 94000 mile service

My mini told me I needed to bring it in for service so I obliged. My dealer wants $125 just to inspect it...

Is this common?

Check with your local MINI Dealership if they are offering a Spring Service Clinic. From what I know, it is a free service and one should RSVP ASAP for it due to limited days and slots available.

Yes, MINI charges that rate for an inspection.

You could do your own inspection? At 95k, I rotated the tires, checked the brakes, replaced engine oil, spark plugs, and transmission fluid. Probably cost me about $100 total.

I couldn't figure out how to reset the service reminder.

Also, the timing chain needed to be looked at.

Yeah, I'm going to buy the Bentley manual.

You should have also flushed your coolant at least one time now. Don't forget to flush the brake fluid every two years.
