Wheel question?

I have 17's on my JCW and I would like to know, do have to buy a particular size/offset to allow for the JCW brake kit or does it just have to be 17's? I asked at Mini and was told as long as they are 17x17.5 to allow for brakes.

Please help.

They have to be 17 but more importantly they have to clear the JCW Brembo brakes. Not all wheels will. If you're buying them used just take your car with you and do a test fit before you actually buy the wheels. If you're looking for new TireRack will have wheels that will fit the JCW brakes. Or you can browse the threads on here and see what other people are running. Wheel width does not dictate whether the wheel will clear the brakes. Offset and spoke design will.
