I've always wanted a mini since I started watching Mr. Bean when I was a kiddo. That was ages ago (lol). Was able to drive my dad's boss' vintage one back in high school and I was in love for real! Since then, I would only dream about having one..knowing that it is way off of my budget and that I would "probably" get my hands on one later on when I'm about to retire. I'm in my late 20's, by the way, and I just died when my hubs gave me the first surprise for this year.

Sorry for the super long story but I just felt like sharing how it happened, I always get excited when people ask me about it!

We planned on visiting this city where we would meet up with some of our friends that weekend, since I was off for the weekend and that rarely happens. Anyway, he was hinting on test driving a mini for some time, saying that I drove a vintage and the newer models might differ and all. But I kept on telling him that I would only test drive a mini when I AM READY to HAVE it. Anyway, to cut is short, we ended up dropping by a dealership in that city for that day.

As soon as we drove past by the minis displayed at the dealership, I was trying my best to hide my smile. I felt like a kid inside a huge candy store. One mini caught my eye. It was the only one that appealed to me. Not knowing what was about to happen

BTW, I had no idea that there were different kinds of minis. All I knew was that I wanted a two-door mini with a manual transmission in black. That's it. Hubs wanted a white one for me, it was alright but I've always seen myself with a black one.

Anywaaaaay, on to the story. As soon as we spoke with an agent, I had to go to the restroom because we had to drive a long way to get there. As soon as I got back, the hubs asked me if I wanted to test drive a stick. I couldn't help but smile and nodded. As soon as the agent left to get the key, I told the hubs that we would only test drive it...or I was probably convincing myself. As soon as the agent got back, he unlocked the black mini that caught my eye earlier. Oh my, I got so excited that I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. Hubs was laughing at me. So I drove around and I was all smiles. We got back and I tested the automatic version. It was alright... I knew I wanted the stick better but I didn't comment that much on it since we were only there to test drive. Later on the hubs asked to see white ones and the agent showed us some but they were automatic ones and they weren't the S type. The agent was insisting on the white automatic but I told him it looked girly. I wanted a "manly" looking mini. I kept on glancing at the black one while the hubs and the agent talked. Next minute, hubs was asking for quotes and all.. Everything was surreal later on.. Hubs asked me if I really wanted the black in a stick and all I did was smile. The agent ran our credit and gave us a very good offer. Hubs then said we we're gonna take it and I got so shocked and excited, hubs made fun of me that I was grinning too much and that I turned red. I know I must have looked stupid but I couldn't control it. I couldn't believe it.

Anyway, that's how everything happened.. My dream of having a mini finally came true.

We got the mini cooper s sport package 2013 manual transmission. I will be adding pics as well. My mini's name is goliath We named it after my family's "beast"... We have a male black teacup chihuahua.
