I have 900 miles on my GP2 so far. Doing a gentle break-in. I haven't taken it over 4k rpms. Going in for an oil change soon.

However in 4th - 6th gears the GP2 doesn't pull as hard as my 09 JCW did.

In my 09 I could be cruising at 70mph in 6th gear, hit the throttle and there was plenty of torque. The GP2 doesn't have as much punch.

Maybe the GP2 will improve after the break-in or maybe there is something wrong???

Thoughts?

 

Ive owned a Factory JCW and I now own a GP2. From what I've driven of the GP2 so far, it pulls much better than my Factory JCW. I would reassess after you've run it in and are taking it above 4000rpm.

 

Is there possibly a difference in gear ratios?

 

I somewhat agree, I think the power is just more linear, were the JCW was more gentle them pow! At the end

I think it just feels different by the seat of the pants

We own both
A JCW and a GP2, so I go from one to the other often.

The JCW surges much much more, even at 65 it "seems" to pull faster
I'm guessing more turbo lag, but the GP2 is quicker
