Drivetrain What about the VR tune for n18 and n14
What about the VR tune for n18 and n14
It will be a good idea to contact VR and to ask specially if they tune the N18 by the OBD...?
"For reference, this ECU is a BOSCH MEVD17.2.2 and can be OBDII flashed."
That is our N18 ECU. Check out Manic's application list. Same ECU.

Feedback from Vivid
I am interested in this solution. I like being able to remove and apply a tune at will. I asked Vivid a few questions and got some interesting answers.
I had asked about custom tuning and he responded:
"Every tune is a custom tune. It is based on the original read out and the information provided. A stock remap with basic bolt ons you can only adjust values such as lambda, timing, boost, torque limiter, rev limiter so much to be safe and reliable. Calibration are really just mathmatical equations. If the customer has access to a dyno and would like to log afr and boost, we can adjust accordingly if needed. But from what I have seen, this is only the case on full custom setups with bigger injectors, turbos, blah blah."
This is very interesting to me. You upload a log from your ECU to Vivid and they base the tune off that. Very cool. You can take it a step further and data log your car on the Dyno... that doesn't seem critical though.... especially for basic bolt on stuff.
I asked how much additional boost increase there is with the tune. He would get back to me after he spoke with the tuner but typically is 2-4psi.
Another question I had was, who provides the tune? He could only tell me it was a European company that's been in the business for 10+ years. They directed me to this link for a Porsche they tuned.
Whats also interesting to me is that, if you get the VR tune and decide to do some basic bolt ons... like an exhaust , FMIC, intake, etc. the ECU will learn and adjust appropriately. Let me know if I am wrong, but that doesn't seem possible for other tuning companies?... not to my knowledge anyhow.
If you decided to upgrade the turbo or any other major mod after the tune, they would charge $400 for a remap.
All sounds good to me so far... other than the cost.

It looks like Vivid will be able to make the sport button activate the tune. They are confirming for me.
Also, good news for Auto's, they are able to successfully tune them with out the ill effects.
I may go ahead and be the guinea pig on this one....

Agreed. Although, I think it's essentially for a custom tune once you start doing the heavy mods after the fact. If you had the mods prior to purchasing VR, it will be the normal $700, I believe.
