I had a funny encounter today that I thought was worth sharing... Not too many Mini encounters up here on the north end of Highway 49, Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. I've had my BRG Copper for about a month now, and have had only one Mini-Mini highway encounter (a red one northbound out of Nevada City). I think I've seen three others before I got mine. I drove into town (Grass Valley) today and stopped to pick up some Gardening Supplies. When I walked out to the parking lot, there was a young boy (~12 years) curiously checking out my BRG Mini. He asked if it was my car as I approached, and I was intrigued by his obvious interest. I asked if he knew what kind of car it was. His eyes lit up as he pulled a yellow HotWheels Mini Copper miniature out of his pocket. He said he someday hoped to own and race a Mini. A cute story I thought I would share. I only regret not thinking to let the young Mini enthusiast sit behind the wheel!

Awesome story! - Thanks. My 4-year old loves our MINI. Last night he was talking in his sleep about getting a new one. What a great kid!

I'm playing with that Hotwheels "yellow" Cooper right now actually. Only $0.99 at the local toyshop. It's a funky orangey-yellow with white top. Makes sitting at this desk bearable...that and the Maisto 1:18 scale full replica Cooper and the 1:32 KiNSMART Cooper I also play with at my desk.

They were selling MINI models at Pfizer a couple of weeks ago so my dad me up an IB MC (not an MCS but close enough) with a white roof. Well, I took a few bored minutes at work and "painted" white bonnet stripes and mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, and the black aero grilles. Thing actually looks pretty sweet!
It will have to tide me over before Coop re-Cooper-ateS from the accident!

I too have the Revell and Maisto versions of my BRG MINI, however I had to paint the white roofs black, the wheel rims silver, and I had to snip off the antenna and shape it into the little shark fin!

Hey, i don't appreciate you calling me a kid! I understand that telling everyone i was a 12 year old made the story cute.... but you should've just been honest!!
