Just wondering if anyone would want to co drive with us. We're definitely planning on getting to nationals, with Bertie in H Street. For once we're thinking Cathy will enter in the Ladies class (and I'll be in the open class of course), which would leave the possibility of an open seat in both HS and HSL.

Any interest?

 

I would seriously consider this if I had a local ride here to practice instead of building my mini up.

Do you have a codriver for the Pro and Tour at Crows Landing? I am coming back home for that one and would love to use Crows as a qualifier for the finale... are you doing the finale?

 

Current plan is to both enter in the open class at the tour and pro at Crows, so no spare seat. We're not planning on the finale.

If you're back here for any of the other weekends, you could join us for one of the regular rounds. They allow up to four drivers.

Maybe we've met at some point? I used to sit on the Steering Committee in SFR and raced there for 6+ years. Mostly in ST/STC.

 

They have a small 30 second practice course set up at Nats...

 

I haven't been to nationals in a couple years I'd consider it.

Add codriving clause to sponsorship deal. His STX build should be fun. I'm lucky that I run in the same region as Craig. Greg Reno also runs here. No end to Mini knowledge!

 

Yeah, I've been promising myself I would go to Nationals in a car that I've driven all season. The last two times I got in cars I had no clue about.

 

We just signed up for the Crow's Landing Pro event. Cathy is entering in the Ladies class, the pro has only 3 (indexed) ladies classes, so they tend to have enough entrants to make the classes convincing.

So that means we have a spare seat for the pro in both SF-HS and L2-HS if anyone's interested.

The only problem is the tires. I'm not sure we have enough spare rubber on the ZIIs to get us to nationals and run at the pro. (A pro event is as many runs as 3-4 regular events.) So I'm not sure I'll have competitive tires. I just checked, tirerack has run out of our size anyway.

I did think about running the other tires I have (R888's for track days and BMW club) in HSR, but that might put us in different run groups and then I remembered the wheels aren't actually legal for HSR. (15x6.5 is street legal, but not stock/SR legal, as SR doesn't have the +/-1" allowance).

I bought some ZII tires in 215/40-17 to use as backup tires and Algy's track tires. I'll probably use them at the pro to save the 16"s.

 

Alex (BAMini) is going to co drive with me at the pro. This should be interesting.

We still have an open seat in the Ladies class if anyone's interested. Come to think of it, are there any ladies here at all?
