MINI SIRIUS antenna

I know this has been beat before, but I've got my '05 on order and am trying to gather up all my parts and pieces together when it arrives home.

So, what I need to know is what the MINI part number is for the SIRIUS/AM/FM antenna and if anyone has bought one? If so, how much?

My theory is that the MINI part has got to look better than the ones I've seen.

Thanks!

Travis

Let's see...

I asked the dealer what's the deal with Sirius in the 05: whether or not it would be available with NAV, or if aftermarket can be installed is it can for older models (which I currently have)... he didn't know anything...

I'm going to wait until July 1 when the specs are "officially" announced, though I've already seen the specs the dealer receives. What I assume is that they'll use the same CD changer set up, where you can plug in a SoundGate adapter and then add the Kenwood tuner.

Now to your aesthetic-oriented question. I had doubts about the eye-appeal of having a roof-mounted magnetic antenna at first, especially since I currently have a white roof. Even though its off-center and black, still doesn't look bad at all. But it will look much better when I get my 05 Black on Black!!!

If it's an '05 then I believe you should be getting an all in one AM/FM/NAV/Sirius/Cellular antenna. The shark fin is going away on the MY 05's the GPS is going to be integrated into the antenna. Since the Sirius was integrated into the AM/FM antenna on the 2002-2004 cars it would seem odd for MINI to pull that out of the new antenna...

I dont think it was integrated into the am/fm antenna. You needed to purchase an antenna that replaced the am/fm antenna.

It replaced the base of the antenna. You got a bigger pod for the base of the antenna when you went with them MINI Sirius system....

From what I have seen the pod on the MY2005's is completely different.

I saw one somewhere, maybe on Gabe's site... The 2002-2004 pod looked just like the current base, only it's a bit bigger. The 2005+ base looks like there is a seperate pod behind the AM/FM antenna base...
