I ordered my MCS from my dealer here on Long Island, NY on the 22nd:D I check the owner's lounge about once every hour hoping that the annoying little "On Order" will change to an actual date. How long did it take for your babies? Also, my dealer told me December delivery. Unrealistic?

My MCS stayed "on order" status for about 2-3 weeks from the time I ordered. Once it was scheduled for production the process starts going much faster. Once your MCS is "in production" it only takes about 7 days. When it's "en route" it takes about 3 weeks, but I'm on the west coast. I ordered mine at the end of August and the dealership told me it would be ready for pick-up arount the first week in November. Now, my date for pick up is scheduled for pick up on Nov 11. However, mine was held up for about a week due to the long shore man strike. I can't wait to pick up... only 1.5 weeks to go!

My dealer said order in October manufactureed in November and delivered in December. My order was actually recognized by the MINI Owners lounge website about the second week of October and changed to "Scheduled for Production" in less than two weeks. It is scheduled with a production date of 11/8 which means it can be built anytime this week. From what I hear/see on this forum, an early December delivery to Chicago for me is not unreasonable. Based on this, I would think you need to see "scheduled for production" and a production date by mid November to expect a delivery before the end of December anywhere in the eastern U.S. If you are west coast.... all bets are off with the dock workers strike/slow down.

Mine went to the scheduled for production status just 1 or 2 weeks before the estimated production date. All the estimated dates were very accurate for me.

I'm still stuck with 'On Order' status, and my 'Estimated Production Date' is 11/15. A quick email to MINIUSA confirmed that mine will be built the week ending 11/15, but yet my status doesn't change...hmmm

I've been stuck at "one order" since the beginning of October, initially with an estimated production date of 11/8... However, in the past week I've been moved up to 11/22 then to 11/29, and now sitting back at 11/22 again.

I know other people have been jostled around a bit with their produaction dates, but this is getting frustrating! I just want to see that magic "scheduled for production" in the OL... seems like after that the waiting can become more bearable. Maybe.

Hmm. Mine is also scheduled for the week of 11/15, but after being "on order" for about 3 weeks, the friday Owners Lounge update now shows me "scheduled for production".

Are you getting any unusual options or anything?

Ladies and Gents,

I'd highly recommend calling Mini for the status of your car. (Don't have the number handy)

They have LIVE data whereas the Mini Owner's Lounge is only updated once per day.

My estimated production date is 11/8 and the guy on the phone line said that once your status changes to "scheduled for production" it means your Mini will be built sometime during that week.

Once it's built another snag can be at the dock. That wait can be anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks (not typical on the 3 week wait, but it has happened). Mini is at the mercy of the shipping company and their schedule.

Next I've heard 10 days to 14 days depending on who I've talked to there. That number seems pretty consistant with what people here have said.

Once your car is stateside, it goes for inspection to be sure everything is OK. That process can be 1 day to 3 weeks. (again, 3 weeks isn't typical) Some examples can be painting, wheel changes, minor fixes, etc.

Lastly, it's on to rail or truck for delivery to you dealer. If you're on the left coast obviously it will take longer than if you're in Jersey.

The number to call MINI is 1-866-ASK MINI. They are very helpful and can tell you what week your call will be built. The week your car's status changes to "scheduled for production" is not the week it will be built. You will be given a production date. The production dates are all Fridays (at least so far) and that date indicates the week your car will be built. Lately it seems MINI's are going to the scheduled for production stage about one to three weeks prior to going into production.

I know the wait is very hard, and all I can tell you is that once you find out your actual production date, it gets harder. And at each successive stage it gets worse and worse until you and your MINI are united. But, its all worth it, and its very exciting!

(sniff) You mean he lied to me?

Thanks for the clarification and info!

nothing terribly weird I don't think...just an '03 MCS w/package 1 & 2, white roof, mirrors and wheels. I was planning on actually calling the week of production. I don't think it is really going to help if I call repeatedly during the next two weeks, so I will just wait. I've had really good luck with emails, and I always get a prompt, informative reply. I've waited this long, I'm sure that the last 2 months or (hopefully) less should be a piece of cake!
