R50/53 How to determine the value of my car.
How to determine the value of my car.
Hey everyone,
I am sorry of this is not in the right forum. How do I determine the value of my car? Normally I would just let the dealer take it. But I have been told by the mini dealership that the R53 is in demand and I should sell it myself. Its a 2004 Black R53 (156000 miles) fully loaded with leather, JCW alcantara wheel and a fully painted JCW kit. It is lightly modded with pully, JCW CAI, short shifter and DT Bypass Valve. I can post picks etc. However, if I could just get a resource to begin research it would help.
Thoughts? Thanks for the help in advance.

With that many miles and assuming a clean car fax. Dealer cost would probably be around 5500 if it was real clean.
Realistically more like 4000-4500 sold privately.
I base this on the prices when I was looking for mine 6 months ago.

reference point - my bank, USAA, has some useful tools as well for members as well as a car buying and selling service so maybe other banks too.
your mods will be more difficult to value, but its at least a starting reference point

Location can make a difference too...
So IMO use the listed tools....
and that gets you a rough estimate....
then add/subtract based up the "local" market, and how fast you want to sell it...
