4 misfires and a stall...

2007 MCS I have owned for one month. Saturday I put seafoam in the tank and did just a bit in the pcv valve. This morning went to start it and had a very rough idle and stalled. Then started and ran well. After work the same thing. Any thoughts?

Also have a ringing (like a phone) noise around 2-3k rpm and when sitting with clutch in.

Any sage advice and thoughts are greatly appreciated!

HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) is a known issue with 2007+ MCS's, your symptoms are the classic telltale signs. The good news is Mini USA has extended the warranty on this pumps because of the widespread problem to 10 years so you should not have to pay for anything.

Does the phone sound kind if like a cricket on steroids? If so I strongly believe it to be the slave cylinder that mounts to the transmission under the Mini, mine has started making noises only with clutch engaged. If I push clutch pedal in half an inch sounds gone, if could also be air in the clutch hydraulic system. If there's air in the cylinder that could cause it to vibrate making that phone noise.

I do suppose it could sound like a cricket on steroids. The only thing is I don't have to have the clutch engaged for it to happen.
