I made my own shift ****

I recently started turning wood on a lathe, and I figured what better project than a few shift *****. So, I made a few designs for gifts for my Dad's Miata, and then this morning I tackled one for my R53.

I used some scrap Lignum Vitae that I picked up in the discount bin of the wood shop. It looks nice, smells nice, and has a nice feel with a slight polish while retaining the wood look and not looking too plasticky.

What say you?

Wow, Nicely done! Might have to trade in my 2013 Automatic for a stick, so you can make one for me!

The contour looks nice , as well as the wood grain!

That's very nice work. I made several turned ***** for my old Miata with a threaded insert, great fun. I wish someone made an insert that you could use to make ***** for the 2nd generation MINIs.

Yeah, making the aluminum insert for a Miata was a lot simpler than the solution I engineered for the MINI.

That looks good, man. What did you do to make it fit the Mini?

Looks nice. Could refine the design and sell these off. What kind of wood did you use?
