Pre-Intercooler Charge Pipe Recommendations

I'd appreciate any feedback and/or recommendations with regard to swapping out the stock pre-intercooler charge pipe and muffler.

Questions that I have are:

Does this result in any measurable performance gain?
Is any one manufacturer's setup offer any advantage (i.e. ALTA, M7 etc.)?
Is there any reason to swap out the stock intercooler output piping?

My current mods are listed below.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I did the swap. No noticeable difference. When I get a tune will be swapping all charge pipes for aftermarket of my mechanic's suggestion.

Helix has done dynamometer tests and didn't get any increase in horsepower with the charge pipe muffler delete.

I believe it. I'm very interested in knowing if there's any difference in performance b/w stock charge pipes or aftermarket AFTER: intake, intercooler, DP, tune. I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if it made a difference in performance. I suspect the OEM silicone wears a LOT faster under increased boost, and I'll be swapping out the charge pipes LATER... but if money is a pinch, that's the first thing I'll want to wait on.

Want that intercooler, DP, and tune!

elsenordave, that's what I have right now and it makes the most sense logically to me. I also blocked my noisemaker. It doesn't address the possibility that the OEM silicone will bulge out under boost OR that the NM replacements are ~10mm wider in diameter.

I DON'T think that the diameter can make that big of a difference unless you're trying to boost way too high, but I'm no expert and only my initial thought.

I need to have somebody step on the gas while my hood is open and feel those charge pipes to see if they expand at all under boost. If they DO bulge, than I can see it robbing boost pressure.

I had an exhaust shop cut me an 8"x2 1/4", maybe it was only 2", piece of pipe and that's what I had for the muffler delete. It was like $14.

Problem is you won't see any boost unless the engine is under a load. Hitting the gas in park/neutral won't generate any appreciable pressure. The OEM hoses look like they are a fiber core rubber product to me?

I really like the product elsenordave used. It looks very promising. I'm only wondering if the cooling fins would abrade the rubber hose that runs horizontally right in front of the OEM muffler. I'm not sure what the hose services as I can't see in there without doing some disassembly work. Also wondering if it might actually pick up some heat from the exhaust/cat/turbo (especially in the summer) as it is in the same general area under the hood?
