"I have seen the new MINIs has a lock on the Glove box."

Can you put a new glove box door w/lock on an old MINI that is w/out?

Am I understanding your question?

The lock is an 05 option. Why not lock your valuables in the boot if you must leave them in the car. If you lock the doors with the remote you cannot unlock them by pulling the inside handles.

Call your local dealer and ask if a 2005 MINI glove-box door will fit on a non 2005 model.

Then buy one and install it. Sorry to be so obvious.

Really? I'll have to try that. How about the toggle for the locks at that point? And climbing in the window and getting to the boot area is not that hard.

Have you tried it?

If you install the upper boot tray, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get into the boot area without opening the hatch.

Yeah, I wish it had a lock too. I keep my gun in the tissue holder and the glove box pops open when I go over bumps.

ok, come on. you are not one of them then.

I'm talking about those who think it is pretty hard to get into the boot without unlock the car.

use your key fob to lock the doors, the doors will not unlock unless you do it with the key or the fob, the interior switch will not work at this point.

Actually you still can. First you need to use the toggle switch to unlock the doors. Then give the handle a double pull and it opens up. I did it on my 10/03 build.

I will have to try that, the switch doesn't appear to do anything, but this will be interesting.

"Or somebody important or somethin'?"

Locking a glove box in an open car is just asking for some crack head to break the dash & glove box door for you. Only leave valuables in the locked boot. On my Miata I don't even bother to lock the car. Just the boot.
