My R53 was totalled at the end of September. I found her on a Salvage Bid site, but by the time I got ahold of my wholesale contact my beloved gh05t was gone :( I would just like to know the status whether stripped for parts (that would kill me), or is someone fixing her to keep?... If anyone sees my baby please let me know. 2004 Dark Silver Tinted all the way around... hammered down on 18" Black PIAA wheels.



Front end collision, so the grill may not match. Breaks my heart to even see this pic : / and video.


My gh05t was LOUD and FAST too if anyone sees her please lmk...

I know this may hurt…but how come you let them take her away?
It's sad to think someone else is driving your car… sucks!!

 

I had a really bad concussion after the accident. They said the car was totalled and I needed transportation. The lot she was in was shady... I was able to go there and get things out of the car, but I don't remember much about those times. I had severe memory loss after the accident. One day I had to convince myself that it wasn't 1997... crazy. I came back to work a month later and started looking for her online. Once I found her, she was gone the next day. :( It does suck to think about all we put into the car and having it driven by someone else.

 

That's terrible, I hope it went to a good home and it's good that your ok. I've been trying to track down my e36 because I wondering the same, so I feel your pain.

 

Thanks It's one of these things that I hope I can resolve soon, so 10 years from now I'm not stalking parts and classified ads trying to track her down lol... Feel like I will be looking until I found her. Good Luck with your E36 search.

Still searching... its driving me nuts... Even if it was parted I have to know. I'll search until I find my gh05t. My friend and his son even made a tribute video. If I could find it, I'd sell my Audi to get the MINI back.

 

You should just run a carfax with our VIN. Will tell you if it's been crushed or purchased and re-registered and where.

 

That's probably my next step. I will dig until I find it. I've had 2 R53s, but this one was special. I was in bad shape after the accident or I would've bought it back. Now I have a great car. I have a 2011 A4 Quattro with nag and the B&O... I love it and it's paid off... and I feel like such an ungrateful **** because all I think about is finding my MINI or buying another one. I just don't want to start over on another car. I had like 14k invested into this one.... MINI ownership is a drug lol

No pain can't be relieved by a GP1. Search for 1 instead.

 

A GP1 would be nice, but I really miss the crap outta my gh05t :( I SOOOOO regret not buying it back after the accident.

UPDATE!!!!! Still no gh05t :( However, I am FINALLY making my way back to MINI I think. My A4 is getting up on miles (60k) and I fear that service fees will dramatically increase in the near future. I've been looking for my gh05t and anything else that would want. An R53 would be great, but I've already had 2 of them. I'm moving on to an R56 I found. Built almost exactly how I would've built it new. I'm so excited to be back on familiar ground with MINI!!!

 

Did you ever run a carfax on it? If not I know a few people who may be willing to get one for you if you post the vin.
