Wheel Question?
Wheel Question?
Hey guys this is my first post and other than plasti-dipping some stuff will be my first mod to my mini. I have a '05 r50 and am going to do fully adjustable coilovers in the front, and adjustable arms in the back. My biggest question is how much offset is too much on the minis? I'm looking at Klutch SL1 and Stance's Encore.
These both have a lot of offset I would think for the mini but hopefully I could make them work. If anyone knows of any similar style/priced wheels let me know too!
Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

If there is someone that has a MINI with the look you want then ask them what fitments work for them.
Post a picture of what you want.
The more fully adjustable the suspension the better. For front camber you need adjustable front camber plates.
Offsets will vary depending on the width of the wheel you want to use and flush or not may depend on which tire size you choose. Stretched tires (narrow tire on wider rim) will tuck in better if you want a slammed or hellaflush look.

For the MINI, 205/40 tires are not common. Looking at Falken ZE-912:
205/40-16 fits 7-8" wide rims, tire diameter 22.4"
205/40-17 fits 7-8" wide rims, tire diameter 23.6"
A common wheel size to choose is-
17x8" with offset of about 42 to 38 works fine with 205/40-17 tire, you can use spacers to adjust how flush you want it. With offset of 26 the wheel will fit the inside suspension but stick out 22mm or 0.9" more than OEM. This can be OK if you use enough negative camber to adjust. This tire size is almost 1" less than OEM 24.4" so you can drop the suspension a little more to keep it tight.
If you use a 17x9" you will have more wheel sticking out and the tire will be more stretched and tapered on the tread area. You would need severe negative camber to tuck in the wheel depending on how low you drop it.
